‘Blackout’ (2015) Exhibited at Light Falls, Green on Red Gallery, Dublin May 14th - June 11th 2015 The installation is composed of objects made from polarising filters. Polarisers are optical filters that allow light of a specific orientation to pass through them. When two polarisers are placed in perpendicular arrangement all light is blocked, making an otherwise transparent object become totally black. These forms look completely transparent, but they turn black when viewed through the polarised frame in the gallery space. The image on the left is the view through this frame.
