‘waiting in the wings’ (part 3)

Materials : 15mm toughened glass, site specific lights 

Devised from an eighteenth century theatrical technique called ‘Pepper’s Ghost’, this structure amplifies the viewer’s awareness that their perception is being manipulated. The illusion at play in this work sees unwired bulbs become illuminated by reflection. I use the glass to replicate light from one bulb to another creating a double reality, blurring the line between the existing and the unreal.
